Eagle "ESP" Connecting Rods are the first Connecting Rods in the market that are manufactured on the cutting-edge Sunnen Krossgrinding System. This process ensures that the rods are able to hold extremely tight tolerances with ease. The features include center-to-center length of +/- .001, big-end barrel/bellmouthing of +/- .0002, weight savings between 30-70 grams (depending on rod length), and 3-D design that ensures reduced weight without sacrificing the strength of the original rod; thus, providing maximum strength to weight ratio. Manufactures from certified 4340 steel, these Connecting Rods also feature Silicone Bronze bushings for floating piston pins and vacuum degassing.
Every Eagle "ESP" Connecting Rod is manufactured from a TWO-PIECE FORGING, which is X-rayed, sonic-tested & magna-fluxed as part of Quality testing. The manufacturing process of these forgings is designed in such a way that it ensures a superior fatigue life by forcing the grain into the shape of a Connecting Rod. To strengthen the Connecting Rod, the rod cap is forged separately to enable the grain to run perpendicular to the load forces. Eagle "ESP" Connecting Rods use 4340 steel to allow maximum flexibility in using different materials to achieve optimum results. These Connecting Rods also contain a high content of nickel & chrome to achieve greater strength and fatigue life.
