K&N 57 Series Gen II Fuel Injection Performance Kits (FIPKs) are multi-vehicle compatible and an improved version of K&N O/E replacement filter alone. These Air Intake Kits utilize only non-metallic rotationally molded tubes that have a greater capacity to reduce air temperature and decrease intake sound over a metal tube. The factory air path leading to the engine can often prove to be a limitation in the airflow chain resulting in the loss of horsepower. However, with K&N Air Intake Kits, this limitation is effectively taken care of by replacement of air filter and the entire path to the engine. More power is achieved by driving excess amount of air into the engine through aerodynamically engineered tube drives.


K&N 57 Series Air Filter kits are marvels of engineering excellence to come out of K&N stable. The manufacturing process is unique to these products and you won't find such high level of precision that goes in their production. It starts with the largest conical shaped high-flow air filter that is fitted into the engine compartment using factory holes and mounting points. A standard K&N O/E replacement filter limited to the size of the factory air box, but this extra filter size not only enables more airflow at lower restriction, but also captures and traps more dirt, which increases its service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles). The filter is often isolated from high engine-temperature by a heat shield, which is specially designed to lower the temperature of air entering the engine. All this process results in enhanced horsepower. The next stage is attachment of filter to a rotationally molded tube, which is specially made from interlaced High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). This process results in molding the shape of the tube for different applications so that turbulence is minimized. It also accelerates airflow into the engine. The final step is to connect the tube to the engine with the help of adapters, which are made from strengthening materials, like silicon and reinforced nylon. This process results in durability of the air intake system. The end-result is a high-class product with maximum horsepower gains.
